This looks like a charming cabin. It is...but it's much more than that. Believe me.

If you thought all you saw below was a cute little cabin, you would be wrong. Sure, it looks like a quaint cottage (in almost every way), but thanks to some sneaky architecture, that's just a disguise. Kelly Davis, the architect who designed this faux cottage at Canoe Bay Escape, is a visual con artist (and possibly a magician).

It might look like a cabin, but it's actually an RV (no joke).

This "cabin" is only 400 square meters, which doesn't sound like much.

But it's actually bigger than some studios.

But it's actually bigger than some one-bedroom apartments.

The ESCAPE cabin was originally designed as a premium cabin, not a camper van.

This increasingly popular movement focuses on living with a smaller financial, environmental and physical footprint.

It doesn't look like most other RVs, but it's park model RV standards up to 400 square feet.

Not only is the cabin made of the highest quality materials (cedar wood paneling, LED lighting, Energy Star appliances, etc.), but thanks to the great design, you never know how small it is.

Great design isn't just for show (or conforming to tiny home standards). It's also efficient: "Canoe Bay's unit is heated by a high-efficiency closed-burning fireplace...no stove. No one chooses an oven. The fireplace is over 90 percent efficient, even in this harsh winter - our temperatures have been below zero -20 to -35 degrees - Fireplace ESCAPE is easy to heat and saves us a lot of money.  I sold it and am going to build my own tiny house. As Tiny Project's Alek Lisefski says, "Living in such a small house makes my space, and every area of my life, simpler and less cluttered, with nothing but the necessities. "I think he was right.
