Phone Insurance for Verizon
Im going to explain how the Phone Insurance for Verizon plan works
Battery replacements or repairs are necessary.
Broken phones are eligible for replacement or repair due to preexisting defects under phone insurance.
Purchased separately, some phones require additional coverage.
Claiming a cracked phone is much harder than fixing it. Therefore, it's best to fix a broken phone with extended warranty coverage.
Phone Insurance for Verizon should cover this claim.
I decided to get phone insurance for my Verizon Wireless account. Because of this, I knew how to file a claim for my broken phone. I wasn’t sure how to proceed.
Therefore, I thought I'd explain the process for filing a claim for a broken Verizon Wireless phone.
Im going to explain how the Verizon Wireless insurance plan works, as well as why we decided to add broken phone insurance to our account.
Why we added Verizon broken phone insurance
I thought mobile Phone Insurance for Verizon was too expensive for a mere possibility. Plus, my husband and I had our phones for years without breaking them. However, one day I decided to get insurance because I realized breakages were more of a possibility than I thought.
Our teenage daughters received cell phones then smartphones.
Teens interacting with smartphones is an unhealthy practice.
Three of the cell phones had unfortunate accidents during their teen years. One fell into a toilet, another fell onto the driveway, and a third slipped out of somebody's hands and dropped down a flight of stairs.
Our daughters should have been more responsible for their phones, but accidents occurred and we had to replace many of them.
Smartphone insurance seems affordable once you consider how much money you spent on them. Having to buy two new phones within a year makes the insurance seem necessary.
Broken phone insurance costs how much money?
Verizon Wireless refers to this insurance plan as Verizon Mobile Protect Multi Device. However, I like to call it the Verizon broken phone insurance. Four phones require our plan to cover them; they also offer single-device insurance.
Our account has four phones, so $50 a month is required to cover the cost. In one year, we would have spent $600; two years would cost $1200— approximately the same as the newest iPhone.
For years, nobody filed insurance claims.
It’s ironic that the moment we started paying for broken phone insurance, all of our phones stopped breaking. Even though it felt like a waste to spend money on insurance each month, we had to admit it was necessary.
Because I broke my phone's frame and stopped it from charging, I said that I had already shattered the phone.
It’s ironic that the first insurance claim was made by the girls’ mother. They have always taken good care of their phones, while I've had to make a claim because mine broke.
Because I couldn’t charge my phone anymore, I broke it and bent the frame.
Phone insurance covers a variety of things.
Although I haven’t personally lost or had my phone stolen, Verizon Wireless Mobile Protect Multi Device insurance covers lost and stolen phones. Since I broke my phone, though, I can share my experience about what this insurance covers.
I've submitted claims for two broken phones. Because of this, I can provide a detailed description of the process so you understand what to expect.
Verizon promised to discuss their phone insurance coverage.
Verizon's cracked screen repair insurance cover comes in handy if your phone breaks.
Cracked screens are common, so Verizon offers insurance to repair them.
If you crack the front screen of your phone, you only need to pay a $29 deductible. You may also be able to get your screen repaired that same day if you have insurance.
Cracked screen coverage covers almost everything.
If the front and back of your phone are cracked, you must submit a full claim to receive a new phone. Alternatively, you can apply for screen repair and receive a discounted device.
Any physical damage to the phone will not qualify you for an insurance claim. However, filing a claim is possible if the damage prevents the phone from charging, turning on or adjusting volume.
Replacing a battery is similar to repairing one.
Broken phone insurance covers replacing or repairing a phone’s battery after the warranty expires.
This coverage only applies to a few phone models, so there are many limitations.
Even if you don’t have a cell phone warranty, you can still make a claim.
It's much easier to fix a broken phone or cracked screen than to repair an expired phone contract.
To replace a broken phone, you must get a new one.
Verizon encourages customers to file insurance claims through Asurion, their partner company, instead of directly on the Verizon website. This is because once the claim is filed, you will receive a replacement phone through Asurion instead of Verizon.
Asurion is a company that processes claims. They offer information about what to expect when filing a claim with them.
As soon as I started my claim process for the phone, Asurion asked me to provide details about what happened to it. Upon providing information about the physical damage, Asurion rejected my claim almost immediately.
The port on the phone is covered by insurance if it gets damaged. However, replacing the screen will cost the owner of the phone. After realizing this, I decided to add more details about how the phone was working. You don’t get a brand new phone under the claim process for an iPhone — it’s similar, but different.
